These photos of down-town Saigon projects have not been completed, or in some cases even started.  They all most likely can be available to those investors who think outside of the box in order to get ahead of the learning curve.

Saigon Success (in the making)

Me Linh Tower Project - In the foreground, recently built out to a low-rise temporary structure housing a restaurant, due to regional slow this project was pulled from development before the superstructure went up. Right rear are the Ocean Palace (pink brick) and the Caravel Hotel (gray brick).
Hyatt Hotel - at the intersection of Le Loi and
Hai Ba Trung  Streets, planned as a 5-star entry to a huge potential market, its infrastructure went up before the full impact of the financial crises hit Vietnam.  Centrally located in one of the best sites in all of Vietnam, there has been no work on this project since 1998.  [sg_6] [sgndvlp_2]

Asean Square on Le Duan at the intersection with Hai Ba Trung was cleared for a Korean financed tower project but from 1997-2000 sat vacant as its investors hoped that the crisis would pass quickly.  In order to hold on to their license and site, a low rise, series of temporary, small buildings was constructed that is now operating successfully as a shopping mall. [sgndvlp_8]
When the building boom was in full swing in the  mid 90s, the  State with its inventory of prime sites selected this one for its new, State Owned hotel and office tower.  With a wider crisis and lower expectations, this was to have been a State hospital.  That was nine years ago.  This site and interesting structure waited innovative plans and financing. Belonging to the People's Committee of HCMC, it overlooks the Saigon zoo on Le Duan. See it now. [sg_11] [sgndvlp_7]

Central Park at the intersection of Nam Ky Khoi Ngia and Nguyen Dinh Chieu was planned as an office and residential tower.  It has not ever been more than the parking lot and car wash that it is today.  The location could not be more prime. [sgndvlp_9]
Presidential Towers on Nam Ky Khoi Ngia near Nguyen Dieu was to have been a residential home for the elite who would overlook the old Presidential (now Reunification) Palace.  The site is still beyond prime.

Nguyen Du Apartments, a 39 unit, low-rise max height of 6 floors is now planned for the spot once reserved for Convention Hall Towers on Nguyen Du, which never got past the land clearance stage.  Across the street from the Convention Center now nearing completion, this is perhaps the least looked at but best of all possible locations. [sgndvlp_11, 11a, 11c]
Saigon Cultural Center referred to in the State  media as the "Black Hole of Saigon," is a project of Taiwan that in 1998 destroyed many blocks and old back-packer stops along Pham Ngu Lau and Nguyen Thi Nghia near the New World Hotel, and remained a hole in the ground until 2000. The minimal construction can be seen with some improvements.  The renovation of 23 September Park across the street can be seen. [sg_28][sgndvlp_1] [sg_33][sg_34]

If you want to see what Saigon looks like today in its current, finished state, visit Downtown Ho Chi Minh City, or Saigon as most people still call District One.

Should you be tired of urban life, consider a trip to the beach and invest in The Cua Lap Resort Project

It's no longer the past as you take a glimpse into the future of a newly renovated Tan San Nhat Airport.

An experience not to be forgotten is a trip to the Highlands to visit with the basket weaving masters of Vietnam, the last in the world who can produce such quality materials.
