Cua Lap Site

There are 28 homes and less than 100 people living on the still pristine 150+ ha (372+ acres) of the site that for all time until late in 2002, has been  isolated from all development. The new Highway 51C is now open that allows easy access for the millions who know the route to Vung Tao.  And when the new Long Thanh and Phu My highways are completed, it will be only a one hour drive from the 11 million people and US$ 20 billion in foreign direct investment in the greater Ho Chi Minh City region.

A few selected photos from the larger on-line collection are provided here for those candidate investors who desire to download larger images for closer consideration.

Click on the small photos and then sit back.  Unless you have a fast connection, the images can take several minutes each to load.

Looking east, down the main drive of the site, to the left and right now in operation is the site is the new, 4-lane Highway 51C. This fronts western boundary of  the site for 2.5 km (1.5 miles).  Land fill to the left of the main drive will restore the Fishing Village land to its natural state. The colors shown are unexpectedly brilliant due perhaps to high resolution & unintended over exposure. Cua Lap Pond is shown in this interior portion of the site.  The Golf Course will be to the left rear. Located around the lake, beach front, and wooded lots will be 150  to 200  luxurious villas built with up to 500+ sq.m (or 4,500 sq. ft) of interior space on up to 2,500 sq. m (1/2 acre).  The homes are projected to sell for from US$1 million to US$3 million. This is the planned Cua Lap interior, site for over 300 units in the  office and shopping complex housed in two story villas blended into the lush vegetation. To the right and across the street will be the IMAX Theater and Aquarium.  Pictured on the motor bike are the developer and his elder son on one of their routine tours of the site.  These are the first two of 28 private homes now on the site. All residents are  itinerate farmers or fishermen who have been meeting and consulting with for the developer for the past 6 years to help smooth the way for eventual  land clearance. While this is often a stumbling block in projects that don't make the same effort, we expect different results.   Cua Lap's elder citizen, Mrs. Khuong Thi Ho, 87, is seen talking with the developer's son in front of her home.  Mrs. Ho's sons live near her and are fisherman. She is a collector and seller of treasures that wash ashore. Living with in 100 meters of the water, she tells us that in 27 years her home has not once been flooded.
